Dec 12, 1918 - Carroll Times - The following obituary of the life of Mrs. John Liechti has been handed in by Rev. J.P. Lester: Another of Carroll county's pioneer mothers passed away this week when Mrs. Rosalia Liechti died at the home of her son in Arcadia township.

Rosalia Caroline Lehman was born at Bern, Switzerland, on February 7, 1832, and died on December 9, 1918. She was united in marriage with Mr. John Liechti in 1853 and came to America with her husband in 1873. They located on a farm near Arcadia and for over 46 years this good wife and mother was a living part of Carroll county. In that time she saw these western plains develop into the fertile farms of today and the scattered homes of the first settlers give way to the commodious homes of the present. The deceased was an example of the sturdy womanhood that helped to make this land what it is today. She was a homemaker and splendid mother, giving her time and her life to the eleven children sent to her keeping.

About two years ago she suffered from a paralytic stroke which left her almost helpless, and from the effect of which she died. She was preceded into death by her loving husband in 1911.

The children are as follows: Mrs. Fred Glanzman, Mrs. Henry Michael, Ernest, Charles, John, Adolph, Otto, Hugo, Emma, and Amelia. Funeral services were held this morning, Rev: J.P. Lester officiating. Burial was made in the Carroll cemetery.
