June 12, 1939 - Carroll Daily - Mrs. William Fritz, of Fergus Falls, Minn., formerly of Carroll, died at her home in Fergus Falls at 10:15 Sunday morning, her death being attributed to a complication of ailments. She passed away at the age of sixty-six. Mrs. Fritz, who had been in frail health for the past year, had been seriously ill for the last two months. After spending three weeks at a hospital in Fargo, N.D., she returned to her home and had been cared for there since that time.

The body will arrive in Carroll at 5:05 Tuesday evening Chicago Great Western Railroad and will be taken to the Huffman Funeral Home, where it will rest until the time of the services. Rites will be held at the funeral home at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon and burial will be in the Carroll Cemetery. The Rev. Mr. Butler of Fergus Falls will officiate at the services, assisted by the Rev. R.J. MacDanel, minister of the First Presbyterian Church here.

Mrs. Fritz was well known in Carroll, where she had lived for many years before moving to Minnesota. She was born Isa M. Fritz, daughter of Mrs. Anna Fritz and the late Michael Fritz, at Tiffin, Ohio, Oct. 29, 1871. Coming to Carroll county with her parents in the spring of 1875, they made their home on their farm in Pleasant Valley Township. She attended the rural school in her district.

After her marriage to William Fritz, they resided for a number of years on G.W. Paine's ranch, now the C.H. Parsons farm, west of Carroll. They then bought Mr. Fritz's father's farm a short distance west of Carroll and lived there until they retired to make their home in Carroll. From Carroll they moved to Perham, Minn., and subsequently to Fergus Falls, where they have lived for several years. More than a year ago they observed their golden wedding anniversary.

In addition to returning to Carroll frequently to visit their relatives and friends, Mr. and Mrs. Fritz always made it a point to be here on March 1 on Mrs. Fritz's mother's birthday anniversary. Their last visit here was in March of this year when her mother passed her ninety-second birthday.

Surviving Mrs. Fritz are her husband, two sons: M.W. Fritz of Omaha and C.W. Fritz or Gorham, Me.; one daughter, Mrs. O.L. Anderson (Edith), of Fergus Falls, Minn.; three grandchildren; her mother, Mrs. Anna Fritz, of Carroll; and two sisters, Mrs. J.W. Sievers (Clara) of Arcadia, and Miss Maude Fritz of Carroll.

Her father, Michael Fritz, died in 1904. She was also preceded in death by three half-brothers: James Fritz, Carroll; William Fritz, Osawatonde, Kan.; and Samuel Fritz, Tiffin, Ohio.

Mrs. Fritz had belonged to the Presbyterian Church since early childhood. She took an active part in the Ladies Aid Society and other departments of church work. She also belonged to the Eastern Star Chapter at Fergus Falls.
