Feb 23, 1951 - Carroll Daily Times - Mrs. William Sharp, 78, succumbed to a heart ailment at her home here at 7:10 last night. She had been in failing health the last four months. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Lanesboro Methodist church, with the Rev. Clyde King officiating. Burial will be in the Carroll city cemetery. The body will be returned to the family home here from the Huffman funeral home in Carroll tomorrow.

Mrs. Sharp was born Amy Louisa Jenkins, daughter of Benjamin and Anna Thorn Jenkins, Sept. 10, 1872, in Sanders county, Nebraska. She was a small child when the family came to Iowa in a covered wagon. She was married Jan. 6, 1889, at Irwin, Iowa, to William Sharp, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Sharp, who was a dressmaker, had lived in Lanesboro 34 years.

Her surviving children are: Mrs. Grace Reimen, Yetter; Mrs. Lillie Mikkelsen, Harper, Wash.; Mrs. Mable Mikkelsen, Perham, Minn.; Guy Sharp, Rockwell City, and Mrs. Bertha Williams, Lanesboro. She also leaves one sister and three brothers.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Sharp was preceded in death by one son, her parents, and two brothers. She was a member of the Methodist church and the Royal Neighbors lodge.
