WATERS, KUEBLER, REED, TROXEL

August 3, 1922 - Carroll Times - William I. Waters, a resident of Carroll for 12 years, died at his home on North Main street Monday morning shortly after midnight, following an illness of but a few hours duration. Mr. Waters had been a sufferer with heart disease for a number of years, but his sudden death was unlooked for and a great shock to the family and many friends.

Mr. Waters was one of the highly respected citizens of the community and had a large number of acquaintances in Carroll, each one a friend. He was born in New Salem, Ind., August 2, 1856, and came to Iowa with his parents when a boy, settling in Greene county. His marriage to Miss Minnie M. Kuebler took place in October 1879. Besides his wife, five children, two daughters and three sons, survive. They are: Mrs. Harry Troxel, of Lanesboro; Mrs. Henry Troxel, of Mason City: Charles Waters, of Walnut Grove, Minn.;. Clair Waters, of Mason City; and Earl Waters at home. Mr. Waters had been a member of the Baptist church for 35 years and services were conducted yesterday afternoon by Rev. F.G. Codd, pastor of the Baptist church ot this city. Burial was in the Carroll cemetery.

August 10, 1922 - Carroll Times - Funeral services for W.I. Waters who died Monday morning, July 31 were held Wednesday afternoon August 2, in the Baptist church. Rev F.G. Codd officiating. Music was furnished by Misses Kivits and Shoemaker and Dr. W. Humphrey and Joseph J. Wolfe. Burial was made in the Carroll cemetery.

W.I. Waters was born in New Salem, Ind., August 2, 1856. He came west when but a small boy and was married to Miss Minnie Kuebler in October 1879. To this union seven children were born, six of whom are still living. Harry died January 14, 1914.

Besides Mrs. Waters, the following children survive - Mrs. Chris Reed, Mabel, Ore.; Mrs Henry Troxel, Lanesboro, Ia.; Mrs Harry Troxel, Mason City, Ia.; Clair Waters, of Cartersville, Ia.; Charle Waters, Walnut Grove, Minn., and Earl Waters at home. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren.
