April 8, 1949 - Carroll Daily Times - Minnie Waters, 87, widow of William Waters, died about 7:30 this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Troxel, here. She had been in declining health a long time. The body is at the Huffman Funeral home in Carroll, awaiting completion of arrangements.

Mrs. Waters was born Minnie Kuebler November 24, 1861, at Hillsdale, Westmorland county. Pa. As a small child, she came to Iowa from Pennsylvania. Her marriage took place October 19, 1879, at Jefferson. Mr. and Mrs. Waters farmed in the Lanesboro community before moving to Carroll, where they lived for a number of years. Later Mrs. Waters moved to Lanesboro from Carroll.

Her husband died July 30, 1922. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Chris Reed, and a son, Harry, who died at the age of 16 years.

Her surviving children are: Mrs. Henry Troxel, Lanesboro; Mrs. Harry Troxel, Minneapolis, Minn.; Claire Waters, Lake City; Charles Waters, Hampton; and Earl Waters, Sioux City. She was one of a family of 11 children, of whom the survivors are: Mrs. Mae Stevic, Lanesboro; Harve Kuebler, Moneta, Calif.; Mrs. Clara Rabb, Glidden; Mrs. Frank Bentley, Ames; Mrs. William Toyne, Ralson; and John Kuebler, Manchester.

Mrs. Waters was a member of the Methodist church and the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She also belonged to the Grandmothers club of Lanesboro and the Daily Times Herald Three Quarter Century club.
