Carroll Daily Times Herald - Oct 5, 1965 P5 - Martin Timmerman, 92, of Carroll, a lifelong resident of Carroll County, died at St. Anthony Hospital Monday, Oct. 4, at 11:55 p.m., five minutes before his 93rd birthday. Requiem mass will be read at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis Church, Maple River, with interment in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Sharp Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 and 8:45 p.m. Tuesday, and at 3, 8 and 8:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Mr. Timmerman was born Oct. 5, 1872, at Breda, a son of Jacob and Ann Timmerman. He farmed at home with his parents and brother until his marriage to Mary Christian Budden on Jan. 8, 1901. The wedding took place in SS. Peter and Paul Church, Carroll, with the late Rev. Fr. Nacke officiating.

Following their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Timmerman homesteaded the farm 3 1/2 miles west of Carroll, which is still the Timmerman home farm. Following the death of his wife on April 10, 1950, Mr. Timmerman continued to live there with his daughter, Ann. He became ill a week ago, when he was taken to the hospital. He was a member of St. Francis Church, Maple River, and of the St. Francis Parish Men's Club.

He is survived by seven children: Mrs. John (Coletta) Pottebaum and Edward Timmerman, Carroll ; Ann, at home; William, Hayfield, Minn; Louis, Auburn; Clem, Dover, Minn.; and Mrs. Leo (Bernadine) Tegels, Omaha; also 33 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.

Besides his wife, Mr. Timmerman was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
