May 25, 1953 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Huffman Funeral Home here for Mrs. Arthur W. Schumacher, 60, of Chicago, formerly of Carroll, who died in Chicago at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Mrs. Schumacher succumbed to a five-month illness of diabetes, and complications. The Rev. C. Hugo Orf, minister of the Methodist Church, will officiate at the rites. Burial will be in the Carroll cemetery,

Mrs. Schumacher, the former Erma Ione Willey, was born March 25, 1893, at Laurens, Iowa, a daughter of John and Arvilia Ludington Willey. Her mother died when she was five years old. After her mothers death she came to Carroll to live with her grandmother. Mrs. Edwin Willey, and later with, her aunts, Miss Emily Willey and Mrs. Charles Perkins. She attended the Carroll public schools. She made her home here with her aunts until her marriage which took place Feb. 14, 1914, in Carroll. For the last 36 years, Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher have lived in Chicago.

Surviving with her husband are two sons: Arthur W. Jr., Chicago and Max H. Schumacher, Cleveland, 0hio; and two grandchildren: Carol and Larry Schumacher, Chicago.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Schumacher was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a brother, Harry Willey. The body will arrive here Tuesday morning from Chicago and will be delivered to the funeral home.
