Times Herald, Carroll, Ia Tuesday March 3, 1981 P2C1 - Mrs. Coletta Mary Pottebaum, 78, of 115 South Maple Street, Carroll, died Monday, March 2, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Mar. 4, at Holy Spirit church with the Rev. Roger Augustine, V.F., officiating. Burial will be in Mount Olivet cemetery. Joan and Kathy Pottebaum will be lectors; Rick and Steve Pottebaum and Joe Rotert mass-servers and Theresa, Carol and Linda Pottebaum and Joleen Rotert gift-bearers. Serving as pallbearers will be Marty, Tom, Mike, Jim, John and Dean Pottebaum and Bill Rotert. Visitation at the Twit Funeral Home in Carroll will be after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday. Rosaries will be recited Tuesday at the funeral home at 3 (Legion of Mary), 8 and 8:45 p.m.

Survivors include her husband John; sons Vernon, Carroll; Earl, Des Moines; Donald and Arthur, Carroll; Raymond, Anita, and Bob Pottebaum, Halbur; daughters Rita Pottebaum, Carroll, and Mrs. Jerry (Mary Lou) Rotert, Halbur; 32 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, sisters Ann Timmerman, Carroll, and Mrs. Leo (Bernadine) Tegels, Omaha, and brothers Louis, Carroll, and Clem Timmerman, St. Charles, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Paul in infancy, brothers Ed and Bill Timmerman and a grandchild Joann.

Mrs. Pottebaum was born March 23, 1902, at Maple River, a daughter of Martin and Christine Buddin Timmerman. She was married Feb. 14, 1928, to John H. Pottebaum at. St. Francis church, Maple River, by the Rev. August Meyer. She received her education at Maple River. She was a member of the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Legion of Mary, Holy Spirit Ladies Guild and Mission Ladies Quilting Circle.
