Apri 24, 1944 - Carroll Times - John Harms of Forbes, N. D., a brother-in-law of George D. Jacobs of Carroll, died this morning at a hospital in Aberdeen, S. D. He had been seriously ill for only a short time. The body will arrive in Carroll tomorrow morning and will be taken to the Huffman Funeral Home, where services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon. Burial will be in East Liberty Cemetery, northeast of Lidderdale.

Mr. Harms was 73 years old. He was born Jan. 4, 1871, in Sheridan Township, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eilert Harms, who died many years ago. About the year 1900 he took up his residence in North Dakota, where he had resided since then.

He leaves one sister, Mrs. J. C. Ford (Sophie) of near Lidderdale, one half-brother, Henry G. Jenssen of Auburn, and other relatives, including nieces and nephews. A brother, George E. Harms, was buried at Cedar Rapids last week.

Mr. Harms was a brother-in-law of George D. Jacobs of Carroll, Mrs. Wilda Harms of Lanesboro and Mrs. George E. Harms of Cedar Rapids. Mr. Jacobs and J. C. Ford, who had spent a few days with Harms at Aberdeen, returned home last night.
