Oct 8, 1963 - Carroll Daily Times - Jesse Charles Schwarzenbach, 72, retired Carroll businessman, died unexpectedly at his home at 1121 North Clark Street, Monday night, Oct. 7. He formerly operated a laundry and dry cleaning establishment here. His funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Allan M. Peterson will officiate. Burial, in charge of I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 279, will be in the family lot in the Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call at the Huffman Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Mr. Schwarzenbach had been in ill health for the past two years. He was born Aug. 19, 1891, at Dow City, a son of Jacob and Dora Wiley Schwarzenbach. He graduated from Denison schools. His marriage to Georgia McClellan took place at Denison on March 2, 1911. They came to Carroll in September 1914. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 279, and Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his wife; five children: Mrs. Guy (Dallas) Raridon, Kenneth Schwarzenbach and Nick Schwarzenbach, Carroll; Donald Schwarzenbach, Council Bluffs; and Mrs. Frank (Deah) West, Glidden; 10 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Harry Lyons, Jefferson; and two brothers, Clarence, Omaha, and Guy, Council Bluffs.

He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty and Roberta; his parents, and two brothers.

Schwarzenbach The funeral of Jesse Charles Schwarzenbach, 72, who died unexpectedly at his home in Carroll Oct. 7, was held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Allan M. Peterson officiated. Soloist was a granddaughter, Mrs. James Triplett of Ames, who sang "Rock of Ages" and "Crossing the Bar." She was accompanied by Mrs. Kenneth K. Holley, organist, who also played the prelude and postlude of hymn selections. Serving as pallbearers were Irving Bliss, Robert Frank, Wilbur Judge, Lafe Schoenjahn, Warren Knight, and Dale Sease. Burial was in the family lot in Carroll City Cemetery, where rites were in charge of I.O.O.F. Lodge, No. 279, led by Clyde Bayliss and Ralph Dunn. Arrangements were under direction of the Huffman Funeral Home.

Mr. Schwarzenbach formerly operated a laundry and dry cleaning business in Carroll. He had been in ill health for about two years.
