Nov 5, 1907 - Carroll Sentinel - Word was received here yesterday morning by Mrs. John Witte of the death of her grandmother, Mrs. Martha A. Bemis, which occurred at the Soldiers' home in Marshalltown. Her death was principally due to advanced age, she being at the time of her death eighty-six years old, She was admitted to the home many years ago where she has since lived. She is well known in this city, having made frequent visits here where she formed many friends. The remains were brought here today today noon to the home of Mr. and Mrs. W.S. Peck and the funeral services will be held tomorrow morning at ten o'clock from the Presbyterian church.
