Aug 30, 1893 - Carroll Sentinel - Thomas Broderick died at his home in the fourth Ward this afternoon at 4 o'clock. For a long time he has been a patient sufferer of Bright's disease. This spring he was compelled to give up his run as conductor on the Sioux City passenger train and in company with a number of friends went to Hot Springs in South Dakota hoping to find relief.

After returning he visited the World's fair and on coming home a few days ago was taken worse and this afternoon quietly passed away. Mr. Broderick was a man who held the confidence and esteem of the company and the respect of all who knew him. He was a perfect specimen of physical manhood and his untimely end is all the more regretted.

He leaves a loving wife and three small children to mourn his loss, the youngest being but a few weeks old. The bereaved wife and mother and the children have the unalloyed sympathy in this sad hour of their deep affliction.
