Nov 7, 1958 - Carroll Daily Times - William Jacobsen, 47, of 521 North East Street, died of a heart condition at 5 a.m. Friday in the Veterans Hospital, Omaha, where he had been admitted Nov. 5. Funeral services will bo at 1 p.m. Monday afternoon at the Sharp Funeral Home. The Rev. H. Philip Auffrey, vicar of Trinity Episcopal Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Saturday.

Mr. Jacobsen was well known as a lefthand semi-pro baseball pitcher in the vicinity of Carroll. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the medical corps.

A son of Martin Jacobsen and the late Mary Jacobsen, he was born April 10, 1912, at Templeton. He farmed with his father 10 miles south, one mile west, and one-half mile south of Carroll until he retired with his parents to the present home on North East Street in 1956. His mother died May 7, 1956.

Surviving with his father, who lives at the family residence, are three sisters, Mrs. Charles F (Mary) Youmans and Mrs. William (Violet) Wille, Carroll, and Mrs. William (Lillian) Morris Jr., Spring Valley, Calif. One brother, Melvin, preceded him in death.

Mr. Jacobson was graduate from Dedham Grade School and Carroll High School in 1931.
