July 10, 1962 - Carroll Daily Times - Funeral services for Jehoida (Joy) Davis, 64, Templeton, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carroll. The Rev. Lester L. Moore, pastor of the Methodist Church at Dedham, will officiate and burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.

Military rites will be in charge of the Dedham American Legion Post. Friends may call at the funeral home after 5 p.m. Tuesday. Mr. Davis, a farmer, died Monday morning at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Des Moines.

He was born Sept. 4, 1898, on a farm ten miles south of Carroll, a son of William and Elizabeth Davis. He resided on the same farm with his sister, Mrs. Bess Emery. Mr. Davis had served with the SeaBees in the U.S. Navy for two years.

Surviving are two children, Earl Davis, Templeton, and Mrs. Perl (Margaret) Butler, Guthrie Center; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Emery, Templeton, and Mrs. Roy (Mae) Williams, Audubon.
