Former Carroll Resident Dies At Madison, Wis.

Body of Mrs. Maria Emmons Will Arrive Here Tomorrow

Mrs. Maria Emmons, former resident of here, mother of Mrs. Edward Franzwa of Hollywood, Calif., who is visiting relatives in this vicinity, died Saturday evening at 5 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. P. Craft, in Madison, Wis. Mrs. Emmons fell and broke her hip about six years ago and has been an invalid and in the care of her daughter, Mrs. Craft, since that time.

The body will arrive here early tomorrow morning and will be taken to the Huffman Funeral Home. Services will be held at the Huffman Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock. The Rev. William Yingling, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, will officiate, and burial will be in the city cemetery.

Mrs. Emmons is the last of her family of nine children and would have been 87 years old her next birthday. She was born Feb. 13, 1848, in White Creek, New York.

Mr. Emmons, her husband, died in 1925.

She is survived by five children, Mrs. Edward Franzwa of Hollywood, Calif., Mrs. C. P. Craft of Madison, Wis., Oscar of Freemont, Neb., Frank of Council Bluffs, and Harvey of Des Moines.
