Mrs. Anna Hoogestraat Died at Arcadia Monday, July 30.

The sudden death of Mrs. Fred J. Hoogestraat at her home, one-half mile east of Arcadia, Monday evening last, came as a severe shock to her many friends here, and in the vicinity where she was well known.

Her maiden name was Anna Kruse. She was born in Germany in 1843 and was married to Fred J. Hoogestraat October 1, 1870.

The funeral took place Thursday afternoon, August 2, at 2 o'clock p.m., at her late home, and was largely attended by old friends and neighbors. The services were conducted by Rev. Huendling and Rev. Jungenblut of the Presbyterian church. The interment was at the Bruggeman cemetery.

Those who know her best speak of her as "a loving wife, a devoted and affectionate mother and the kindest, truest friend and neighbor." The sympathies of the entire community go out to the bereaved husband, children, brothers, and other relatives and friends in their great sorrow.
