Fanny Fenton, whose maiden name was Fannie Cleveland, was born at Harrington, Conn., September 28, 1806, and departed this life December 10, 1899, aged ninety-three years, two months, twenty-two days.

In childhood her parents moved from the home of her birth to Camden, N. Y., where most of her life was spent. At the early age of ten years she was converted and for many years was connected with the Presbyterian church. Was united in marriage to George Fenton April 3, 1833. Five children blessed this union, two of whom passed to the other land several years ago. Those living are Philo S. of this place, Emerson and Eliza, both of whom reside in New York. In 1878, being deeply interested in a great Methodist revival held near her home, she united with that church. They came to Iowa in the spring of 1882, her husband dying in November of the same year. Living thus for nearly a century she had witnessed many great and wonderful changes and like the fully ripened grain was ready to be garnered into the treasury when her Lord and Master called.
