WENDELIN REILING

AUBURN - Wendelin (Wendy) Reiling, 73, of Auburn died at 6:30 a.m. Sunday in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha, Neb., where he had been a patient for a month.

Requiem mass will be read at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Church here by the Rev. Edward Fandel. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home In Carroll after 7 p.m. Monday. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday and at 3 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, the last being the parish rosary.

Mr. Reiling was a son of Albert and Mary Reiling. He was born Nov. 5, 1896, at Mt. Carmel and spent his young manhood in that vicinity. On Sept. 5, 1918, he enlisted in the United States Army and served until receiving his discharge on April 7, 1919.

He was married Jan. 20, 1920, to Emma Reiff at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church by the late Rev. John B. Baeumler. They made their home on a farm in the Arcadia vicinity and later farmed at Mt. Carmel, Auburn, Fonda and Junction City, Kan. He retired and they lived in Lake City until moving to the present home at Auburn. He was a member of St. Mary's Church.

Surviving with his wife are the following children: Albert of Lake View; Mrs. Lucille Mc-Kiernan, Cedar Rapids; Harold, Corning; Mrs. Eugene (Ethel) Lampe, Dow City; Ralph, Rembrandt; and Mrs. Eric (Mickey) Dixon, San Diego, Calif.; 37 grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren.

Also surviving are a brother,Ted Reiling, Maple River; and four sisters, Mrs. Clara Schelle, Wall Lake; Mrs. Caroline Underberg and Mrs. Mark (Mary)Swaggert, Springville, N. Y.; and Mrs. Regina Gehling of Gilmore City. Five brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
