MRS. ANTHONY WERNIMONT AUBURN —

Mrs. Anthony Wernimont, 74, of Auburn died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, at Loring Hospital, Sac City. She had been in failing health for the last year and hospitalized for the last six weeks.

Requiem mass will be celebrated by the Rev. Edward Fandel at 10:30 a.m. Monday in St. Mary's Church here, with interment in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Sharp Funeral Home in Carroll after 7 p.m. Saturday. The rosary will be recited at 8 and 8:45 p.m. Saturday; and on Sunday at 3 p.m. by members of the parish Altar Society; at 8 p.m. by St. Mary's parishioners and again at 8:45 p.m.

Mrs. Wernimont was the former Agnes Gehling, daughter of Herman and Ella Gehling. She was born Jan. 1, 1895, at Carroll and lived at home until her marriage to Anthony (Tony) Wernimont on Feb. 13, 1917. The wedding took place at SS. Peter and Paul Church, with the late Rev. Fr. Rotert officiating.

The couple made their home on a farm three miles south of Auburn until 1920, then in the Manning and Coon Rapids vicinities before moving to another farm east of Storm Lake.

After retiring in February, 1959, Mr. and Mrs. Wernimont moved from Storm Lake to their present home in Auburn. Mrs. Wernimont was a member of St. Mary's Church and the Altar Society of the parish.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Marcellus of Rembrandt and Cleo of Carroll; two daughters, Sr. Agnes, of Kuemper High School, Carroll, and Mrs. Thomas (Anna) Cox, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 22 grandchildren; a brother, Theodore Gehling of Carroll; and three sisters, Sr. Anna Gehling, Breda; Mrs. Clarence (Catherine) Masching and Mrs. James (Cecelia) Houlihan, Carroll.

Four brothers and a sister preceded her in death.
