ERWIN H. GEHLING EMMETSBURG-

Erwin H. Gehling, 62, of Emmetsburg, formerly of Carroll, died Monday, May 4, at the Palo Alto County Hospital here. He had been ill for the past two years.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, at Assumption Catholic church here with the Rev. Charles Bormann officiating. Burial, under the direction of the Martin-Bails Funeral Home, will be in St. John's cemetery.

A rosary will be recited at the funeral home in Emmetsburg at 8 p.m. Tuesday. Surviving are his wife Gertrude; a daughter Mrs. Lavern (Diane) Stangl, Emmetsburg; two sons: Dennis, Emmetsburg, and Delbert, Morningside; eight grandchildren; four brothers: Lawrence, Gilmore City; Clarence, Grand Meadows, Minn.; Paul, Blooming Prairie, Minn., and Albert, Stewartville, Minn., and a sister Mrs. Melvin (Virginia) Broich, Lake View.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Frances Wendl.

Mr. Gehling was born July 13,1918, in Carroll, a son of Henry and Regina Reiling Gehling. He was married to Gertrude Brandt in Carroll on April 4, 1947.
