Died from Her Injuries.

After lingering until Monday evening Mrs. Anton Wiedemeier died from the injuries sustained the Saturday previous by falling from a wagon on her return home from this city.

Until within a few hours previous to her death there appeared no alarming symptoms. Relatives and friends were happy in the apparently complete recovery of the injured woman, but shortly after 12 o'clock she became restless and complained of pain in the region of the broken ribs. In spite of every effort she declined rapidly and life was terminated by a hemorrhage. Though badly injured about the head and body deceased was in full possession of her mental faculties to the last moment and completed every detail with christian composure before she passed away.

The funeral took place this forenoon at SS. Peter and Paul's church and was attended by a large number of friends of the deceased. In fact it was one of the longest funeral processions that was ever witnessed in this city, over one hundred vehicles being in line besides many people afoot. Mrs. Wiedemeier was a practical, devout member of the faith in which she died, and while her summons was preceded by a shocking accident, she nevertheless was sustained by a soothing influence which had the spirit of God in it. After solemn requiem mass the funeral procession proceeded to SS. Peter and Paul's cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest.

(Transcriber's note: Although this obituary is well-written and informative to a point, it lacks some vital information important to genealogical researchers usually found in published obituaries, such as first and maiden name and the names of immediate family members. I encourage researchers who know this information to respond to this post to provide this information for future researchers. --- J. C.)
