John Coon Buried At Mount Carmel

Death Comes in California After Operation and Short Illness

The funeral of John Coon, who died in Los Angeles, California, on June 28, following a short illness and operation on his ear, was held at the church in Mt. Carmel Monday morning. He was ill only a week, and his death came as a shock and a surprise to his many friends in the community.

He was born on a farm near Mt. Carmel, and resided there with his father until about 8 years ago, when he moved to Carroll. His mother passed away about ten years ago, and John was the only son. He attended school at St. Joseph's college, at Dubuque, for a number of years, and last fall went to California, intending to make his home there.

Interment was made in the Mt. Carmel cemetery.
