Mrs. Bohnenkamp Dead.

The last sad rites were said over the remains of Mrs. C. A. Bohnenkamp, wife of Editor Bohnenkamp of the Breda Watchman, yesterday and the body laid to rest in the church cemetery of that city. It was sad news to the many friends indeed to learn that one so young and with so happy a future before her, should be called on to part with all she held so dear on earth. For some time past she had been in poor health and last fall she was brought to this city and placed in the hospital where she underwent a very delicate operation for cancer. She recovered sufficiently to return to her home but it was not long until her case became alarming and it was evident that at best her life could be protracted but for a span. She was well aware of the seriousness of her disease but bore up with christian fortitude waiting for the final summons.

Mrs. Bohnenkamp was a perfect woman endowed with all those christian virtues that go to make a noble woman. Her death is sadly mourned by her friends and the bereaved husband and children have the sympathy of the community in this hour of their affliction.

Miss Christina Ricke was born in Breda Feb. 7, 1875 and was united in marriage to C. A. Bohnenkamp Feb. 15, 1898. To this union there were born four children, two of whom are living, a boy of 9 years and a girl of 5 years. The mother of the deceased died about six years ago and two years ago she was called on to mourn the death of her brother Ben. Her father, one brother and two sisters were present at the funeral, but her brother Henry of Lucile, Idaho was prevented from being present by the severe storms which so delayed travel that it was impossible for him to arrive in time to be at the funeral. A number of the relatives from abroad were present. They were: Frank Bohnenkamp and daughter Rosa Ludwig, Henry Ahmann and son John, Mrs. Rudolph Lammers and Barney Brinkers all of Remsen.

The brethren of the press unite in expressing their sorrow for Editor Bohnenkamp and his children who have suffered the greatest affliction they could be called on to pass through, that of the loss of a dear loving wife and mother.
