Theo. Schmitz

Theo. Schmitz died at his home in Pleasant Valley Twp., Friday after an illness extending over one year. He died fortified with the last sacraments. Deceased was born March 16, 1855, at Oberweiler, near Treves, Germany. He came to America in 1881 and lived for some time in Wisconsin. On Feb. 8, 1885 he was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Stuckart. 14 children were born to this union, of whom 4 died. 4 sons and 6 daughters survive him. Of the latter three are members of the sisterhood of St. Frances at LaCross, Wisc. He is also survived by his wife.

Funeral took place on Tuesday at Willey after requiem services at St. Mary's church of that place. Theo. Schmitz was a good man well beloved by his neighbors. He leaves his family in comfortable circumstances.
