Mrs. Katherine Rust.

After an illness lasting over a period of one year Mrs. Katherine Rust, wife of the late H. Rust, passed away at the home of her son, Herman, Sunday morning, January 17, 1915, at the age of 77 years. Death was due to dropsy. Mrs. Rust was born in 1838, in Altenburg, Germany, and spent her girlhood days in her native country. At the age of 19 years she was united to Henry Rust, to which union nine children were born. Two are dead. In 1878 they came to Arcadia from Lyons, Iowa, and settled on a farm north of this town. Mrs. Rust was a good Christian, a devout member of the Catholic church and a woman noted for her charity. The funeral was held Wednesday from the Catholic church, Rev. Father Schulte officiating. The remains were placed by the side of her beloved husband in the Catholic cemetery. May her soul rest in peace.
