Zitzlsperger, 92, Pioneer Farmer, Dies Wednesday

Michael Zitzlsperger, 92, died suddenly of a heart attack at his home in the Willey community at 3:45 yesterday afternoon. He resided seven miles south of Carroll on Highway 71, one mile east and one-fourth mile north, having lived on this farm the past 65 years.

Funeral services are to be at 9:30 Saturday morning at St. Mary's church in Willey, with the Rev. Father H. J. Dries reading the requiem mass. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

The body was returned at 4 o'clock this afternoon from the Sharp funeral home to the family residence.

To Pray Rosary

The rosary, led by the Rev. Father Dries, will be prayed at the family home at 8 o'clock Thursday and Friday nights. Members of the Rosary Sodality will attend in a group Friday night.

Mr. Zitzlsperger was born Aug. 7, 1852, at Kinzing, Germany. Coming to the United States at an early age, he located in Carroll county. After working on different farms for several years he purchased the place which he occupied at the time of his death.

He was married April 26, 1879, at St. Joseph's church in Carroll, by the Rev. Father F. W. Pape, to Miss Anna Balk, who died Sept 17, 1929. He was also preceded in death by three children, George, Veronica and Mrs. Verona Wilschutz.

Ten children survive: John and William, at home; Frank, Willey; Mrs. Mary Simons, St. Benedict, Iowa; Mrs. Frank Bayer (Frances), Carroll; Mrs. Joe Bayer (Anna), Dedham; Mrs. George Bayer (Kate), Carroll; Mrs. Lawrence Hoffman (Clara), Manning; Mrs. Glenn Jarvis (Margaret), Columbus, Neb., and Dorothy, at home.

He was a member of St. Mary's church and the Rosary sodality of the parish.
