Mrs. Michael Nagl Succumbs At Home Here

Had Been Resident of Carroll County For 58 Years

Funeral Services Will Be Held Wednesday; Burial At Willey

Mrs. Michael Nagl, sr., 80, a resident of Carroll county for 58 years, passed away at 9 o'clock last evening at the Nagl home on West Bluff street.

Mrs. Nagl had been enjoying good health, considering her advanced age, until four weeks ago when she fell and struck her face. She had been in a serious condition since then, but during the past several days seemed to gain strength.

She was up several hours yesterday and was able to sit at the breakfast table. She made no complaint during the day and was being prepared for the night when she passed away peacefully.

Funeral Wednesday

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning. A requiem high mass will be read at 8:30 o'clock in Ss. Peter and Paul church by Rev. Lambert J. Schenkelberg. The body will be taken to Willey, her former home, where a solemn

requeim high mass will be celebrated at 10 o'clock by Rev. H. J. Dries, pastor.

Other officers of the mass will be Rev. Louis Anthofer of Roselle, Rev. C. Huelshorst of Dedham and Rev. Anthony Bausch of Wall Lake. Interment will be in the family lot under the direction of the Gregory Funeral home.

Pallbearers

The pallbearers will be five sons: George, M. M., L. M., Joe M., and Frank M. Nagl; and a grandson, Albert Nagl, son of John M. Nagl who was killed in 1922.

Mrs. Nagl's maiden name was Crescenca Zitzlsperger. She was born at Kinzing, Germany, on August 19, 1855, and received her early education there, coming to this country when she was a young woman.

She came to this county upon her arrival in America and two years later, on March 10, 1879 became the bride of Michael Nagl. They were married by Rev. Father Wegman at Hillsdale.

The couple resided on their farm in Roselle township for 15 years before buying additional holdings in Eden township.

They retired in 1920 and came to Carroll to make thier home.

On March 10, 1934, the couple celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.

Survivors

Surviving Mrs. Nagl is her husband; seven children, George Nagl, who made his home with his parents; M. M. Nagl, of Carroll; L. M. Nagl of Roselle; Joe M. Nagl of Templeton; Mrs. John Kennebeck (Mary) of Dedham; Mrs. Henry Hoffman (Catherine) of Dedham and Frank M. Nagl of Dedham and 22 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

She has one living brother, Mike Zitzlsperger of Carroll.

A son, John M. Nagl was killed in 1922 when struck by a train. She was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Louis, and several sisters, who remained in Germany.

Two of her sons, George and M. M. Nagl, are owners of the Nagl Hardware store here.

She was a devout member of Ss. Peter and Paul church and belonged to the Christian Mother's society here and to the Rosary sodality at Willey.
