Mrs. Anthofer Died Thursday Morning

Mrs. Franziska Anthofer died at the home of her son, Rev. Fr. Louis L. Anthofer of Roselle, Thursday morning, December 6, at 9:15 o'clock after an illness of three weeks with asthma and heart trouble. She had not been well for the last six years.

Mrs. Anthofer, as Franziska Huber, was born at Bruck, Niederbayern, Germany, December 24, 1850. She was married in the old country to John Anthofer. After the death of her husband in November, 1902, she decided to come to America where three of her boys were already living. In 1904 in company with her two daughters, Theresa and Frances, she came to the United States and located in Dedham. Frances, who later became the wife of George Axman, died six years ago.

For the last six years, Mrs. Anthofer made her home with her son, Rev. Anthofer. She was a kindly woman and very faithful in her church duties. Mrs. Anthofer had the satisfaction of seeing her children become useful men and women in their communities.

Five children survive; George Anthofer, who remained in his native land, Joseph Anthofer of Stratton, Colo., Anton Anthofer of Dedham, Rev. Louis L. Anthofer, priest of the Holy Angels church, Roselle, and Theresa, of Roselle.

Mrs. Anthofer is survived by another daughter, Sister Mary Radegunde, at Passou, Germany.

Funeral services with a solemn requiem mass were held at the Holy Angels church at Roselle Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock. Her body was then taken to Dedham where a solemn requiem mass was held at St. Joseph's church at 10:30 o'clock. Burial was made in the Catholic cemetery at Dedham.
