Many at Rites for John Behrens

Many relatives and friends attended final rites at SS. Peter and Paul's Church at 9:30 a.m. Friday for John H. Behrens Sr., 108 North Main Street, who died at St. Anthony Hospital Tuesday night.

Requiem mass was offered by Mr. Behrens' nephew, the Rev. Alver Behrens of LeMars. The Rev. Louis Anthofer of Lake City was in the sanctuary.

Fr. Behrens and Fr. Anthofer officiated at graveside rites in the Carroll Catholic cemetery. Pallbearers, nephews of Mr. Behrens, were Melvin and Ray Sibbel, John Sibbel Jr., Harry Behrens, John Buelt and Edward Behrens.

Mr. Behrens, retired farmer, was 68 years old.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, two daughters, 17 grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters, all of whom live in the Carroll area. Attending the rites from a distance was Mr. Behrens' sister-in-law, Mrs. Mary Behrens of Anthon.
