HENRY BRINCKS, 75, DIED TUESDAY NIGHT

Ill But Short Time When Summons came—Funeral Held Tomorrow Morning.

Henry Brincks, 75 years old, died at his home in the Fourth ward Tuesday evening at 10 o’clock after an illness of but two days. For the last two months, however, he had been in failing health.

Mr. Brincks was born in Muenster, Westphalen, Germany, July 10, 1848, and came to America in 1870, locating near Calmar, Winneshiek county, Iowa. Six years later he moved to a farm near Willey, which he still owned at the time of his death.

Mr. Brincks was twice married. His first wife was Miss Mary Broenling. She died a year after her marriage, and 44 years ago he married Miss Margaret Gehling, who with 11 children survive. One of his children died in infancy. The children are Henry, John, Herman, Ben, Theodore, Joe and Anton, of Carroll, Mrs. Anton Spieker, Canute, Okla., Mrs. William Reineke, of Carroll, Mrs. George Berger, of Carroll, and Mrs. William Schmitz, of Dedham.

Mr. Brincks was one of the early pioneers of the county and through his own efforts prospered and became one of the influential men of the community. He was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul’s church and of the Holy Name society of that church.

Eight years ago he retired from farming and moved into his comfortable home in the Fourth ward.

Funeral services will be held at the Sts. Peter and Paul’s church Friday morning at 8 o’clock and burial will be made in the Catholic cemetery at Willey.
