MRS. HENRY BRINCKS DIES IN CARROLL HOME FEB. 23RD

Was Born Margaret Gehling, in Calmar, Ia., February 2, 1858.

Mrs. Henry Brincks, 108 South Walnut street, died at her home Thursday evening, February 23, at 9:15 o’clock after a critical illness of but a few days. She became seriously ill Saturday, February 18, and remained in serious condition until her death, passing away fully fortified with the last rights of the Catholic church, of which she was a devout member.

Mrs. Brincks, as Margaret Gehling, was born at Calmar, Ia., February 2, 1858, and grew to young womanhood in that vicinity. She was married July 7, 1878, at Calmar, to Henry Brincks of Carroll County. Mr. Brincks was already farming near Willey at the time of his marriage and brought his bride to this county. Until 1915 they were residents on a farm in the Willey vicinity, and moved to Carroll in that year to the home where Mrs. Brincks died. Mr. Brincks died in this city in August, 1923. One son died in infancy and the surviving sons are: Henry, John, Herman, Bernard, Theodore, Joseph and Anton, all of this vicinity. The surviving daughters are: Mrs. Anna Spieker, Mrs. Mary Reineke, Mrs. Tresia Berger, and Mrs. Margaret Schmitz. Forty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Mrs. Brincks had not been in perfect health for over 15 years, as she was suffering with a diabetic trouble. For the last five years she was able to get out very little. As far as she was able, however, she attended church and took an interest in its activities. She was always good natured and pleasant and won many life long friends, who mourn with the family in her death.

Funeral services were conducted at the SS. Peter and Paul church Monday morning at 8:30 o’clock. The body was then taken to Willey where another requiem mass was held at the St. Mary’s church at 9:45 o’clock.

Burial was made in the family lot at Willey.
