Obituaries
John P. Liewer
John P. Liewer, 96, of Carroll died Aug. 14 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital. The Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Aug. 17 at St. Lawrence Church. Graveside rites were held at St. Mary Cemetery at Willey.
In 1980, he moved to Westwood Knolls Apartments. He was a resident of St. Anthony Nursing Home since 1996.
He was a member of St. lawrence Parish, the Parish Mens Club and an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus. He was king of the Willey Centennial in 1982. He was a past board member of the Glidden REC and Dedham Co-op and he received an Outstanding Service Award from the Carroll County Beef Producers.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Alois) Irlbeck of Dedham and Norma (Mrs. Rudy) Anthofer of Audubon; one brother, Frank of Carroll; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Liewer was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Anthony, Arnold, and Norbert and sisters Marie Venteicher, Laura Habiger, Anna Weitl and Leona Tigges.
