Julia Hacker
1914-2009Julia Hacker, 95, of Carroll died Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009, at Carroll Health Center.
Mass of the Christian Burial was held this morning, Monday, Aug. 10, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with the Rev. Timothy Schott presiding. Lectors were Karen Daniel and Sheri Leiting. Gift bearers were Jeanne Venteicher, LuJean Stork, Janice Schulteand Mary Kay Bueltel. Eucharistic ministers were Marilyn Foley and Urban and Jean Knobbe.
Casket bearers were Alan Stork, Ron Hacker, Andrew Patera, Korey Patera, Craig Bueltel and Ted Hacker. Honorary casket bearers were Al Ausman, Eugene Pudenz, Phil Welsh, Pat Hacker and Dennis Venteicher.
Burial was in Mount Olivet Cemetery at Carroll.
Sharp Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Anthony Hospice.
A daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Klocke) Venteicher, she was born March 6, 1914, at Carroll, attended Grant Township School No. 8 and Sts Peter and Paul School, and spent herlife in the Carroll area.
She and Frank J. Hacker were married Oct. 30, 1945, at St. Lawrence Church.
The Hackers farmed in the Glidden and Ralston area then moved to a farm west of Lidderdale in 1969. Mrs. hacker moved to Carroll after her husband's death in January 1983.
Survivors include a son, Terry Hacker, and his wife Theresa, of Austin, Minn.; a daughter, Debra Patera, of Omaha, Neb.; six grandchildren; a sister, DeEtta Bueltel, of Carroll; and a brother- and sister-in-law, Ray and Marjorie Hacker, of Halbur.
Mrs. Hacker was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank; her parents; two sisters; Arlene Fossing and Edna Kraul; four brothers; Henry, Louis, Julius and Alvin Venteicher.--------------------------------------------------
There are a few mistakes in this obituary, as it appeared in the Daily Times Herald.
I lived first on a farm about 1 mile south of Ralston, from 1954 to 1963; Then our family moved to a farm about 4 miles south of Glidden, from 1963 to 1968; Then we moved to a farm 3/4 mile west of Lidderdale, from 1968 to 1983, when Frank J. Hacker passed away.
Edna Kraul is not the correct spelling of her surname, it should have been spelled, Edna Kral
