EXCELLENT MOTHER SUMMONED
Mrs. Peter Eischeid of Near Halbur Called. Was Highly Respected Woman.

At the family home near Halbur last Thursday occurred the death of one of the good wives and mothers of this county when Mrs. Peter Eischeid succumbed to an illness which had extended over several months. She had been ailing since early in the fall and the last four weeks previous to her death she was confined to her bed. In the time that she was ill and suffering she bore up bravely and showed a patient fortitude such as only a good Christian woman knows. She leaves a family of twelve children motherless and grieving over their deep and irreparable loss.

Mary Barbara Meischeid was born June 23, 1867, at Schnellweide, near Mulheim at Khem in Germany. When ten years old she came to this country and in October, 1868, she was united in marriage to Peter Eischeid and they made their home near Halbur. Twelve children were born to this union, Henry and Martin of near Angona, Iowa; William, Peter, Bernard, Catherine, Mary, Albert, Maggie, Annie, Aloyius and Lora at home. These, with the husband and father, mourn the loss of a loving mother, whose thoughts and labors were ever for her family and they have the sympathy of the community in their deep grief. The funeral services were held from St. Augustine church Saturday forenoon and the remains of this excellent woman who was loved and respected in life, were laid to rest in the St. Augustine cemetery. May she rest in peace.
