Wilfred P. Zitzlsperger

ZITZLSPERGER, ROSAUER

Wilfred P. Zitzlsperger was born on May 1, 1920 in Dedham, the son of Joseph and Catherine Rosauer. He died April 28, 1986 at Lutheran Medical Center in Omaha, NE. He spent his early years in the Dedham area receiving his education in the Dedham and Carroll schools. He later moved with his family to Denison in the early 1930s where he completed his education.
He entered the U.S. Army on June 3, 1944 at Camp Dodge. He received his honorable discharge from the Army on May 15, 1946 at Fort Leavenworth. Following his military service he was employed by the Illinois Central Railroad as a depot agent. He was an agent in Denison for 20 of the 42 years he was employed by the railroad. Following his retirement in 1979 he continued to make his home in Denison. He was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison and a member of the V.F.W. Ninus L. Hunt Post 2504 in Denison.
He was proceded in death by his father, Joseph and his brother, Eugene. Survivors include his mother, Catherine Zitzlsperger of Denison; one sister, Bernice, Mrs. Hookie Dotzler of Defiance; four brothers, Clarence of Denison; Robert and Wayne of of Omaha; and Ronald of Decator, IL., as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on May 1, 1986 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Denison. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Military honors were provided by the V.F.W. Post.
