William Joseph and Rose (Kerkhoff) Pieteg
Bill was born Nov. 2, 1889, at Carroll, Ia. He married Rose Theresa Kerkhoff, born March 19, 1891 at Templeton, Ia. They farmed south of Carroll by Swan Lake. In 1934 they moved to a farm 1 1/2 mile west and 1/4 mile south of Lidderdale. raising cattle, hogs and grain. Bill died in 1948 and Rose continued to live on the farm until her death in 1972. Bill and Rose had seven children: Angeline Elizabeth married Louis C. Tigges, Sr.; Lucille Josephine; Wayne Joseph; Raymond Henry;Franklin William; William Henry; and Edward Joseph. All were born at Carroll and baptized at St. Peter's and Paul Catholic Church, in Carroll. They attended grade school in Lidderdale. Ed and "Young" Bill took over the farming operation in 1948 after Williams death. They started the Pabst Blue Ribbon distributorship, called the Lidderdale Investment Company, located in the old tavern.
