William C. Lux was born in Benton County, Iowa, on February 14, 1871. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Lux. The family moved to a Kniest township farm in Carroll County, Iowa, when he was a baby. His wife, Elizabeth J. Daniel, was born on Feb. 26, 1873, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Daniel. After they married on Oct. 10, 1887 or 1888 in Des Moines, Iowa. They continued to live on and farm this same land until he retired and moved to the town of Lidderdale. As a resident of Lidderdale Mr. Lux, at various times, owned a drey line, a pool hall and was known to be a bootlegger. He and his wife had six children
The first born on April 26, 1900, were twins, Mabel (Carl Kroeger) and Marie (George Schaffer). Then on Feb. 10, 1903 they had another daughter, Blanche C (Chris Otto). On May 28, 1906, they welcomed another daughter, Annabelle Mae (Lloyd Stout). Later they had two sons, William D. who was born on Dec. 17, 1907 and Earl F. born on Sept. 28, 1909. William D. and Earl married Inez C. Skinner and Mildred Hein respectively. In Lidderdale W.C. and Lizzie lived on the south corner of the block directly east of the present Holy Family Church. W.C. died in November of 1941 and Lizzie died in the summer of 1956.
