John Henry Lux was born November 19, 1868 in Erie, Pennsylvania. He was the son of John and Selma Lux. He grew up on a farm northwest of Lidderdale. He married Barbara Regina Daniel (born August 29, 1878) on January 19, 1897, at St. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll. They moved to a farm northwest of Lidderdale. Mrs Lux died July 21, 1942, and Mr. Lux continued living on the farm until 1953 when he went to live with his children. He died in Carroll on Jan. 24, 1958. They were the parents of six daughter (2 died in infancy) and one son, John Joseph.
