(February 1, 1953 - December 13, 2016)

Jerry A. Doyen - age 63, of Pomeroy, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at the Pomeroy Care Center in Pomeroy, Iowa. Jerry Alan Doyen was born February 1, 1953, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Lewis and Rose (Rosenboom) Doyen. He was raised on a farm near Jolley and attended elementary school in Jolley. Jerry graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1971 and went on to attend business school at A.I.B. in Des Moines. He worked for various companies in the Des Moines area doing all aspects of business work, including bookkeeping, human resources and payroll. In 2009, Jerry returned to Pomeroy. In 2013, he entered the Pomeroy Care Center due to poor health. He passed away from a rare disease known as Multiple Systems Atrophy (MSA). Jerry was a past member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He was an avid bowler and he enjoyed watching football, baseball and basketball. Survivors include his brother, Steven Doyen of Pomeroy; sister, Peggy (Steve) O’Connor of Lake City; nephews, Christopher (Dacia) O’Connor and Davie (Bethany) O’Connor and a niece, Kathleen (Derek) Schwandt.
