Mark L. Heide – age 68, of Pomeroy, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018, at the Sunny Knoll Care Center in Rockwell City, Iowa. Mark Louis Heide was born March 13, 1950, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Louis and Vera (Hudson) Heide. Mark graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1968. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve. Mark worked at the Eddie Quinn clothing store in Fort Dodge and later in car sales at Storm Lake, Pocahontas and Humboldt. In his recent years, Mark worked with a college recruiting service that benefited players from all over the state. Mark was confirmed and a longtime member of the United Church of Christ in Pomeroy. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, watching sports and playing basketball. He was a longtime fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Kansas City Chiefs and Boston Celtics. He enjoyed going and taking part in car shows. Survivors include his parents, Louis and Vera Heide of Pomeroy; brothers, Brian (Linda) Heide of Rockwell City, and Gregg Heide of Pomeroy; nephew, Curtis Heide of Chicago; niece, Sarah Bailey of Pocahontas and great-niece, Heide Bailey of Pocahontas.
