Larry Charles Aljets
(July 25, 1950 - June 13, 2020)

Larry C. Aljets - age 69, of Pomeroy, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Larry Charles Aljets was born on July 25, 1950 at the Lutheran Hospital in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Harry and Elsie (Passow) Aljets. Larry was baptized and confirmed at the United Church of Christ in Pomeroy. He attended grade school in Pomeroy and went on to attend the Sherman School near Manson. He grew up with his family on a farm near Twin Lakes. After Larry’s parents, Harry and Elsie passed away in 2006, Larry went to live with his brother and sister-in-law, Ken and Donna.
Larry loved to reminisce about days gone by and to talk about his mom and dad. He enjoyed feeding his pet lamb, Ginger and helping do many things on the farm and also around their home when they moved to town. Larry was always ready to go fishing and enjoyed taking many pictures of his family and friends. One his favorites places to eat was McDonalds. Larry is survived by his siblings, Shirlee Worrell of Ankeny, Kenneth (Donna) Aljets of Pomeroy and Beverly (David) Markert of Manson, many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elise Aljets and brothers-in-law, John Els and Leo Worrell. Private family services were held on Tuesday, June 16, 2020 at Powers Funeral Home in Pomeroy, Iowa with Rev. Deb Mechler officiating. Burial was at the Union Cemetery in Pomeroy.
