John Egli
(April 20, 1859 – February 26, 1934)

Obituary
John Egli, son of John and Magdalene Gascho Egli, was born in Zurich, Ontario, on April 20, 1859. In the fall of 1867 he, with his family, moved to Tazwell County, Ill., where he grew to manhood. On Jan. 23, 1890, he was united in marriage to Anna Riggenbach of Allentown, Ill. To this union were born seven sons and three daughters. In 1913 he moved his family to Iowa where he has resided all but three years which were spent in Oklahoma. He passed away at his home in Manson on Monday afternoon, Feb. 26, 1934, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 6 days. He enjoyed unusually good health until Dec 21, 1932, when he suffered a slight stroke of paralysis, after which he never regained his usual health. As a young man he united with the Mennonite church and remained an earnest and loyal Christian until his death.
