Yantis Elijah Wiley
(November 26, 1856 – July 21, 1933)Obituary
Yantis Elijah Wiley was born at Florence, Indiana, November 26, 1856. It was here he grew to manhood and was married to Eva Ann Carver on September 12, 1877. They moved to Iowa March 1, 1895. Mrs. Wiley passes away on June 3, 1902. About two or three years before her death, both Mr. and Mrs. Wiley had joined the Baptist Church. Although Mr. Wiley spent most of his active life as a farmer, he moved to Minnesota in 1903 and spent about 15 years in the real estate business. In 1927 he went to Gilmore City, where he made his home with his daughter, two years later going to Waterloo to live with his son. He passed away Friday, July 21, 1933 at Waterloo. The body was brought to Manson where funeral services were held at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock with Rev. Roy Cox officiating. Burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. He is survived by four children – Clarence J., Thomas R., and Archie L. Wiley and Flora Onnen: and six grandchildren, Mrs. Onnen lives near Manson.
