Obituary
Emily Yates, 80, was born in Fulton County, Illinois, November 12, 1853, and passed away Monday, July 17, 1933. She moved with her parents to Nevada, Iowa, in 1864 and to Fort Dodge in 1865, then to Calhoun County in 1866. She was united in marriage with Owen B. Brown October 25, 1876. To this union four children were born – Ada and Harry, who died in infancy, Frank, who resides in San Diego, California, and Merle J. of Des Moines, with whom she made her home. In 1908 she was married to Ernest V. Kenore. She leaves to mourn her passing one brother, Thomas Yates, who makes his home with his daughter in Rochester, Minnesota; two sons, two grandsons and nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at her home in Des Moines and at the Methodist Church in Manson Wednesday, July 19. Rev. W. F. Knight of the Methodist Church in Des Moines assisted the Rev.
