Ferdinand Christian Schoepke
(February 7, 1851 – April 17, 1934)Obituary
Ferdinand Christian, the son of Ferdinand Schoepke and his wife, Frederike Pletzstoeser, was born on Feb. 7, 1851, at Deutch Kronen, Germany. Here the deceased was baptized and in 1865 confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1872 he married Pauline Gudergan, who departed this life in 1933. In 1883 the young couple came to Varna, Ill., where they resided until 1897 when they located in Twin Lakes Township, Calhoun County, Iowa. Three years later they moved to Cedar Township where they resided until they retired to Richards in 1910. The last two and one-half years the deceased lived with his eldest son where he received the best of care until his death on Friday evening, caused by a stroke suffered last Sunday afternoon. His age was 83 years, 6 months and 10 days. He is survived by three sons, Herman of Center and Adolp of Cedar Township and Ferdinand of Varna, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. Otto Wendt, Richards, 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
