Oscar Lundberg Dies Suddenly
Former Resident of This Commumity Passes On at Lake City
Oscar Lundberg, a former resident of the Big Springs vicinity, passed away at his home in Lake City Tuesday evening. Mr. Lundberg had not been in good health for some time but his condition was not regarded as serious, so news of his death came as a shock to his relatives here and in Alcester. Funeral services will be held at Lake City Friday afternoon and burial will be made there. Oscar Lundberg, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter A. Lundberg, pioneer resident of Big Springs, was born in Sweden but came to America when a small child. He was 64 years of age at the time of his death. He grew to young manhood in Big Springs and was united in marriage with Bertha Fischer of Alcester March 6, 1906. Following his marriage he and his wife moved to LeMars where he was employed by a monument company. Later he went to Lake City where he engaged in the monument business for himself and for the past number of years his son has been in partnership with him. During his residence at Lake City Mr. Lundberg made numerous trips here on business and visited with relatives. He is survived by his wife and two sons, Arthur of Lake City, and Arnold of Fostoria, Ohio, and one grandchild. He also leaves five brothers, Albert of Akron; Axel and David of Alcester; Ed of Hawarden, and Charles of Grooten, S. D. There are three step-sisters and two step-brothers, Mrs. C. E. Carlson of Hawarden; Mrs. Ernest Lundberg of Alcester; Miss Nora Leander of Sioux City; Alfred Leander of Sioux Falls,; and Frank Leander of Sioux Falls, and Frank Leander of Menno, S. D.
