Word was received here this week that Dr. C. Ray McAdams, aged 66 years, died of acute pneumonia on January 16, 1951, at Mount Pleasant, Iowa, after a short illness. He was buried in the family plot at Brooklyn, Iowa on Sunday afternoon following. Dr. McAdams came to Iowa in 1900 from East Lynn, Illinois, where he was born, and lived with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John L. McAdams, in the farming area immediately north of Brooklyn for a number of years. He later graduated from the Palmer School of Chiropractic at Davenport and began the practice of his profession as a member of their staff and then came to Lake City, Iowa in 1911, where he continued his practice for approximately 26 years until early 1937. During the early period of his practice at Lake City, he was associated with Dr. McInnis with offices also at Auburn and Sac City. He was at Mount Pleasant from 1937 until his death. His son, Irl McAdams, for a number of years Chief Boatswain Mate in the U. S. Navy, was graduated from the Lake City High School and before enlisting in the Navy attended Buena Vista College at Storm Lake. Dr. McAdams is survived by his son and two sisters, Miss Pearl K. McAdams of Des Moines and Mrs. Blanche Mohr of Deep River, Iowa. Also, a nephew, Lee J. Hart of Oskaloosa and eight nieces, the married daughters of his sister, Mrs. C. G. Mohr. Most of these nieces live in or near Deep River and Oskaloosa. He was a former member of Zerrubbabel Lodge No. 240 A. F. & A. M. of Lake City, Iowa.
