(November 4, 1922 - March 26, 2014)

Gladys Olson, age 91, passed away on March 26, 2014, at the Pomeroy Care Center. Gladys Marie Peters was born on November 4, 1922, near Palmer. She was the daughter of Fred and Marie (Els) Peters. Gladys was educated in Palmer schools. She was Baptized and Confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Lizard Township. On June 3, 1945, Gladys married Dale Olson at St. John's Lutheran Church. The couple lived on a farm near Gilmore City for one year. They then made their home on a farm North of Pomeroy until Dales death in 1977. In August of that year, Gladys moved into Pomeroy. She continued to make her home there until 2008, when she moved to Assisted Living and in 2011, she entered the Pomeroy Care Center. Gladys was a cook at the Pomeroy School for over twenty years. She was an active member of Elfsborg Lutheran Church, having been in the quilting group and the Ladies Society. Gladys enjoyed gardening, flowers, playing cards, traveling with friends and family, music and spending time with her family. Survivors include her children: Marilyn (Dave) Hammer of Pocahontas and Ron (Lynn) Olson of Bloomington, MN; four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and a sister, Lorna Weber of Salisbury, MA.
