Steve C. Lewis - age 59, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2013, at his home in Pomeroy, Iowa. Steven Charles Lewis was born October 1, 1953, at Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was the son of Harold and Frances (Coakley) Lewis. He graduated from Pomeroy High School in 1972 and attended Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge. In 1976, he began working for New Coop in Knoke and later in Pomeroy. On June 10, 1989, Steve married Joyce Zierke at Rockwell City. The couple settled in Pomeroy. In 2011, Steve semi-retired but continued to work part-time at the Coop. Steve was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church. He served on the Pomeroy and Knoke Fire Departments. He enjoyed plants and birds. He also never met a stranger and was known for his big heart. Papa much enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-niece. Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Pomeroy; son, Trin (Angela) Lewis of Humboldt; grandchildren, Tanner and Allie; mother, Fran Lewis of Pocahontas; siblings, Cyndi (Gary) Klaassen of Pomeroy; Pam (Ted) Carroll of Coppell, TX; Jeff (Patty) Lewis of Manson; David (LuCinda) Lewis of Bennett, CO and Lisa (Joe) Florentino of Little Elm, TX and sister-in-law, Joan Zierke of Pomeroy.
