Donald Carl Anderson
(June 10, 1923 - August 5, 2011)

Donald Carl Anderson (88) passed away at his home Friday August 5th with his wife and family by his side in the rural Pomeroy home he was born in. Don Carl Anderson was born on June 10, 1923 in rural Pocahontas County to Carl and Clara Anderson. Don married Marian Siefken on June 5, 1949, at First Lutheran Church in Gilmore City. The couple raised seven children in and around Pomeroy. Don was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, served in the US Navy from 1943 to 1945 and is a WW II veteran. Don was a businessman, carpenter, and farmer. Don loved fishing, sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Cubs and Cardinals, woodworking and spending time with family and friends. Don is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Marian, sons: Don (Lelaine) of Humboldt, Wayne of Palmer, Darryl (Kellie) of Livermore, Kyle (Jessica) of Pocahontas: daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Jensen of Arnolds Park, Vicki (Tom) Ricklefs of Pocahontas, Teresa (Dale) Francis of New Prague MN; twenty-two grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Clara, granddaughter Hope Francis, sister Arlene and brothers Luverne and Leonard.
